At present, the misunderstanding of LED heat dissipation is mainly reflected in the following aspects: 1. The internal quantum efficiency is not high. In other words, when electrons and holes are combined, photons can not be generated 100%, which is usually called "current leakage" and reduces the recombination rate of PN carriers. The leakage current multiplied by the voltage is the power of this part, which is converted into heat energy, but this part does not account for the main component, because the internal photon efficiency is now close to 90%.
2. This is the main part, because at present, the external quantum efficiency is only about 30%, and most of it is converted into heat. 3. Excessive dependence on heat conducting materials. Because what kind of high-tech material can be used to dissipate the heat. In fact, the heat sink temperature is only 3-5 ℃ higher than the bottom of the radiator after many tests. That is to say, if a material with excellent heat conduction can be used, the temperature can be reduced by 3-5 ℃ when the thermal resistance is zero. 4. Superstition heat pipe. There is no doubt that the heat pipe has a good thermal conductivity. But the heat from the heat sink eventually needs to move the tropics through air convection.
If there is no fin for heat dissipation, the heat pipe will soon reach heat balance, and the temperature will rise with the heat sink. If fins are added to the heat pipe, they will be used to dissipate heat. Moreover, the contact point between fins and heat pipes is not as good as that of other ways. As a result, the cost is high and the cooling effect is not improved. However, it is still useful to use the heat pipe on the integrated LED for heat conduction, but the structure should be reasonable!
